Let’s cover the Do's first:
- Wear it for 22 hours:
The best part of clear aligners is that it is removable, which means you can take it off and have your favourite food, but, its most critical to put them back on after the meal. It’s imperative to wear it for 22 hours/day else it may not be able to move the teeth is the desired way causing the aligners to lose track of the desired transformation.
- Keep it clean:
Oral hygiene goes a long way in keeping you healthy, hence it’s a good idea to always clean your aligners with soap, water and a soft toothbrush before putting them back on. This not only prevents any germs from entering but also prevents any coloration of the invisible aligners.
- Use the aligner case:
As you take them off for eating it is very easy to lose it or damage it. To avoid such mishaps, a aligner case is provided in the kit which helps you store it whenever you take them off.
And now the Don’ts:
- Do not eat with the aligners on:
Aligners are made of plastic and biting on food with it might crack it and also cause coloration. It’s advised to always take off the aligners, eat whatever you want, brush and then put them back on.
- Do not drink hot beverage with the aligners on:
You can drink water while wearing the aligners but any hot beverage may cause it to lose it material property and effectiveness
- Do not throw the previous set
As you progress through your aligner trays it’s advised to keep the just previous tray safe. It might happen that your current tray may be lost or damaged – in such cases you can wear the previous tray which will prevent the teeth from going back to its original position, also reach out to ALINE for a replacement tray.
